In-Leaf: A Male Group Exhibition
Curated by Alessandra Redaelli

PUNTO SULL’ARTE reopens its exhibition season with an unmissable double opening. IN-LEAF is the group exhibition through which the gallery, involving 17 internationally renowned male artists, has chosen to celebrate autumn — a season of renewal, reflection, and important artistic milestones. Alongside IN-LEAF, PUNTO SULL’ARTE is also pleased to present IN-WILD, the first solo exhibition in Varese by sculptor Simone Benedetto. Both VERNISSAGES will take place on Saturday, September 27, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the gallery’s main location in Viale Sant’Antonio 59/61, Varese. Some of the artists and curator Alessandra Redaelli will be in attendance.

PUNTO SULL’ARTE welcomes autumn with IN-LEAF, a powerful exhibition ablaze with fiery colors. The gallery invited seventeen of its artists to share their vision of autumn — a complex season imbued with nostalgia and a longing for rebirth. The result is a compelling and unpredictable choral narrative, where the blaze of the leaves is just one of many interpretations.

Landscapes, both natural and urban, take center stage: from the mystical and solemn atmospheres of Jernej Forbici, to the New York foliage of Claudio Filippini, from the Mitteleuropean nostalgia of Nicola Nannini, to the liquefied skies of Luca Gastaldo, the Roman views by Mauro Reggio, and the deconstructed, open cityscapes of Tomàs Sunyol. The introspective gaze of Raffaele Minotto and Matteo Massagrande invites us into secret spaces where autumn becomes a rushing wind and a mysterious force.

Only two female figures appear: a Maiko by Tom Porta, captured as she turns her face away and disappears into a fiery forest, and a young girl by Silvio Porzionato, who hypnotizes with her transparent gaze. Still life appears as flaming physalis by Ottorino De Lucchi, a flawless dance of roses and poppies by Paolo Campa, and sugary, nostalgic tones by Roberto Bernardi. Eric Roux-Fontaine and Brian Keith Stephens enchant us, the former with a joyful flock of flying books, the latter with two cheetahs rendered with austere, timeless grace in a dialogue between figuration and abstraction. The only sculptures on display are two bronzes: one by Alex Pinna, conveying the symmetry of an embrace that hints at farewell, and one by Simone Benedetto, expressing the wild soul of a child who carries within the courage of a lion.

Some of the artists and curator Alessandra Redaelli will be present at the public vernissages, held on Saturday, September 27, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at PUNTO SULL’ARTE, Viale Sant’Antonio 59/61, Varese. The exhibitions will remain open to the public until October 25, 2025.
