Annalù: Contemporary Artist of Metamorphic Forms

The Art of Annalù
Annalù expresses her research through metamorphic forms and imaginary architectures, characterized by lyrical and evocative qualities. This exploration develops through the assembly and alchemy of synthetic resins, glass, paper, and other materials. A constant theme in her works is Reverie, a kind of analytical déjà-vu that seeks to capture dreams, highlighting the non-places of water architectures, the movement of esoteric spirals of butterflies in her mandala-like works, and the limbo created by her ice books. Her art focuses on the sense of passage and evolution, a journey toward different states and realities, characterized by a dynamic balance: a spirit of inquiry that shares many aspects in common with alchemy, transforming one raw material into another.
Throughout her career, Annalù has created artworks of all sizes, from 15x15 cm to monumental site-specific installations. She is an artist of great imagination, where nature is expressed in liquid forms. Her sculptures, heavily utilizing resin, give rise to a poetic work that plays on the short circuit between the natural element and great artificiality, between apparent fragility and the consistency of the material. She focuses on the moment of transition between one state and another, through a dynamic balance very close to alchemical science aimed at the transmutation of one material into another.
Annalù's artistic project stands out from all contemporary art proposals; the oxymoron underlying her poetic vision is evident in her work: a three-dimensional sculpture that appears absolutely, undeniably liquid.
Who is Annalù
Annalù was born in San Donà di Piave (Venice) in 1976. In 1999, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Her works have been exhibited in many significant solo and group shows in Italy and abroad (United States, Dubai, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Belgium, Slovenia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Singapore, Russia). She participated in the Venice Biennale in 2001 and 2011, winning several awards and mentions. In 2009, she was selected as the Italian representative in the international exhibition at the Moya Museum in Vienna. Her works have been exhibited in Italian and foreign museums and are part of the permanent collection of the MACS in Catania and the MIM – Museum in Motion in Piacenza. In 2020, one of her sculptures was acquired by the VAF Foundation in Germany. In 2024, Annalù was chosen by the prestigious Italian furniture and design company Reflex to create two iconic pieces presented during the Milan Design Week.
She currently lives and works between Jesolo and Dubai.
