The art of Jernej Forbici
His research is characterized by a layered and conceptually aware painting practice, capable of combining expressive strength with thematic depth. Landscape, the central element of his production, becomes a space of tension between nature and human intervention, between beauty and vulnerability.
In 2012, he was awarded a scholarship by the Slovenian Ministry of Culture and invited to undertake a residency in London, where he devoted himself to studying the English masters, further expanding his international artistic vision.
Solo exhibitions such as Sleep Now in the Fire, Blurry Future, Everywhen, Nothing is Yelling at You, Landskip, Phytoremediation, Auri sacra fames, Welcome to the Final Show, and Long Gone mark significant milestones in a coherent artistic path, where a constant critical reflection on the relationship between humanity and the environment clearly emerges.
