Rudy PULCINELLI | RIFLETTERE

The celebrated Tuscan artist RUDY PULCINELLI opens the new season at PUNTO SULL’ARTE in Varese with a new solo show in which he presents the premiere of the large installation Risvegli (Awakenings) and nine unexhibited works of various dimensions. There will be a total of 29 works in the exhibition, ranging from small formats to installations.

The PULCINELLI exhibition – which for some time now has spent several months a year in China – is an invitation to dialogue and sharing, all played out through an elegant counterpoint of contrasts: between chaos and geometric order, fullness and emptiness, dazzling white and dark earthy tones. Protagonists in his work are letters from seven different alphabets, the most widespread in the world (Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, Latin and Japanese) which the artist chooses on one hand for their symbolic value, on the other for the purity of the forms, that in his works fit together, always – and strictly – following an aesthetic logic. This is one of the most appealing points of his work: the ability to move in perfect equilibrium between a concept imbued with layered meanings on one hand and an impeccable aesthetic cleanliness on the other.
