Parigi 1960

  • CV

Having become in a few years the reference of Custom in France and beyond our borders, Erik Salin likes to divert objects from their main functions, and mix different universes between them.

Born in Paris in 1960, he first found his inspiration in American magazines, with a certain talent that allowed him to customize the guitars of great rockers and to become the main preparator of Harley Davidson motorcycles: his unique paintings and original creations became his signature. Nicknamed "the chemist" for the quality of his paintings and his avant-garde works, he has offered his creations to a range of personalities including singer Johnny Hallyday, designer Christian Audigier, brothers Michael and Ralf Schumacher, driver Charles Leclerc, rock legend Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), actor Brad Pitt and many business leaders from the world of industry and luxury.

Influenced by the Pop Art movement, he has naturally evolved towards sculpture, and he has gained an international success with his "Capsule" collection, which denounces the consumer desires of our society. He then successfully hijacks car jerry cans to reinvent them in his own way, as "Eau de parfum" for luxury brands. His gasoline pumps with vintage references, a logical continuation of his Jerrycan collection, are in great demand, also by renowned brands such as Chanel, which has one at the headquarters of its Foundation. He also expresses his freedom of tone with “Lips”, his mouths adorned with zippers, his skulls and weapons revisited, still proposing innovative works and a thought-provoking approach.

Painter, sculptor, visual artist, Erik Salin is now recognized as one of the most gifted artists of his generation in Custom and Pop. He is sought after all over the world: his works are sold from New York to Dubai, from London to Tokyo. He lives and works in the south of France.
