Kintsugi by Lorenzo and Simona Perrone
Discover Kintsugi by Lorenzo and Simona Perrone, a sculpture that interprets the book as a symbol of memory, resilience, and renewal. Inspired by the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi, the artists transform a fracture into a mark of value, celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the experiences that shape us. The artwork is on view at TAVOLO UNICO in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
Gli artisti Lorenzo e Simona Perrone
Since 2006, Lorenzo and Simona Perrone have been developing LibriBianchi, an artistic project that places the book at the heart of their creative practice. Using real books transformed with plaster, water, and other materials, they turn the book into a sculptural object of profound symbolic meaning. Their works explore themes of memory, knowledge, and the transmission of culture.
Description
In Kintsugi, a golden fracture runs across the pages of an open book, recalling the Japanese technique that highlights cracks rather than concealing them. The book becomes a metaphor for rebuilding, preserving memory, and transforming fragility into strength.
