Arlecchinoelefantino by Claudia Giraudo
With Arlecchinoelefantino, Claudia Giraudo explores the theme of identity through the symbolic figure of the elephant — an animal associated with memory, sensitivity, and the deepest emotional dimension. The work unfolds within a suspended and silent atmosphere, where the chromatic fragments crossing the animal’s face evoke transformation, multiplicity, and imagination.
The artist: Claudia Giraudo
Claudia Giraudo was born in Turin in 1974 and graduated with top honors from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Professor Franco Fanelli. Her artistic research develops within contemporary figurative painting through an in-depth study of Renaissance and Northern European Masters, references that emerge in the refined technique and suspended atmosphere of her works. Her child figures, immersed in symbolic and fairy-tale-like scenes, establish a constant dialogue with guiding animals representing the instinctive and spiritual dimension of human beings. She regularly exhibits in galleries, art fairs, and public institutions in Italy and abroad. She lives and works in Piedmont.
Description of “Arlecchinoelefantino”
In Arlecchinoelefantino, the elephant becomes the protagonist of a poetic metamorphosis. The animal’s face is composed of textures and colors reminiscent of Harlequin’s mask, creating a fusion of ancestral strength and emotional delicacy. Its intense and melancholic gaze invites slow contemplation, while Giraudo’s soft and luminous painting gives life to an image suspended between reality and a fairy-tale dimension.
Conclusion
Within the exhibition WILD SOULS, Arlecchinoelefantino becomes part of a journey dedicated to the profound bond between human beings, instinct, and nature. The artwork guides the viewer into an intimate and symbolic dimension where fragility and strength coexist in harmony. The work is on view at Galleria PUNTO SULL’ARTE until June 13.
