Herd soul by Simone Benedetto
With Herd Soul, Simone Benedetto explores the theme of inner plurality and the tension between instinct and vulnerability. The sculpture depicts three children: one seated with a wolf mask; another curled up behind him, wearing the guise of a sheep; and a third who, standing above, rests his hands on the shoulders of the seated figure while donning a ram-like mask with curved horns. The work conveys a fragile yet powerful balance, where predator and prey coexist as parts of a single soul. Presented in the solo exhibition IN-WILD at PUNTO SULL’ARTE Gallery, Varese, Italy.

Description “Herd soul”
In Herd Soul, the triadic composition suggests a constant dialogue between guidance, protection, and vulnerability. Wolf and sheep, opposing archetypes, become symbols of the plurality within the human spirit, turning childhood play into a meditation on collective strength and inner harmony.
Conclusion
The work is part of IN-WILD, a solo exhibition narrating the bond between childhood and the wild, offering the audience a poetic journey into the most instinctive and profound dimensions of being.
