Tokyo by Jean-Marc Amigues

With Tokyo, Jean-Marc Amigues continues his painterly exploration of the relationship between urban reality and abstract dissolution. The artwork creates a suspended and contemplative dimension in which light, movement, and blurred forms transform the city into a fragile and visionary image.

The artist: Jean-Marc Amigues

Jean-Marc Amigues was born in Toulouse in 1965. From an early age he cultivated a passion for drawing and painting alongside his medical studies and specialization in rheumatology, a profession he still practices today. His artistic research develops around the desire to transform real images into compositions suspended between figuration and abstraction. Through glazes, blurring, and dissolving effects, his works move beyond simple realism toward an emotional and contemplative dimension. He has exhibited in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs. He lives and works in Toulouse, France.

Description of  “Tokyo”

In Tokyo, the urban scene emerges through a texture of diffused light, ghostly figures, and blurred architecture. Chromatic veils and reflections alter the perception of space, transforming the metropolitan landscape into a dimension suspended between memory, time, and vision. Amigues’ painting creates a rarefied and poetic atmosphere in which reality and abstraction coexist within the same perceptual space.
