The artist: Jean-Marc Amigues

Jean-Marc Amigues was born in Toulouse in 1965. From an early age he cultivated a passion for drawing and painting alongside his medical studies and specialization in rheumatology, a profession he still practices today. His artistic research develops around the desire to transform real images into compositions suspended between figuration and abstraction. Through glazes, blurring, and dissolving effects, his works move beyond simple realism toward an emotional and contemplative dimension. He has exhibited in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs. He lives and works in Toulouse, France.

Description of  “Jardin à Hiroshima”

In Jardin à Hiroshima, a silent boat emerges from an aquatic landscape immersed in soft light and blurred reflections. The image appears suspended between presence and dissolution, while chromatic veils and shadowed areas transform the scene into a poetic and mental space. Amigues’ painting creates a rarefied and unsettling atmosphere in which the boundary between reality and perception gradually disappears.
