Luci della Grecia XIII by Matteo Massagrande
With Luci della Grecia XIII, Matteo Massagrande captures a Mediterranean corner suspended between architecture and landscape. An ancient gateway opens toward the sea, revealing a luminous horizon beyond timeworn walls. The intense light shapes surfaces, arches, and vegetation, creating a quiet and contemplative atmosphere. The work is on view at PUNTO SULL’ARTE Gallery in Varese as part of the solo exhibition SOGLIE – Stanze, Paesaggi, Città.

Description “Luci della Grecia XIII”
In Luci della Grecia XIII, Massagrande structures the scene around an architectural opening that guides the viewer’s gaze toward the sea. Weathered walls, metal structures, and spontaneous vegetation interact with the bright Mediterranean light. The contrast between shadow and light creates depth and conveys an intimate and suspended vision of the space.
Conclusion
The work resonates with the theme of the exhibition SOGLIE, dedicated to spaces of passage and liminal places. In Luci della Grecia XIII, the gateway becomes a visual threshold between architecture and landscape, between built space and the natural horizon. The artwork is on view at PUNTO SULL’ARTE Gallery in Varese until May 9, 2026.
