Disegno by Omar Galliani
Disegno by Omar Galliani. A work in which a female face emerges from the darkness like a silent vision, while a constellation of small points of light unfolds beside the figure. The diptych creates a dialogue between presence and absence, matter and light, shaping an image suspended between reality, memory and dream.
The artist: Omar Galliani
Omar Galliani is an Italian contemporary artist, born in Montecchio Emilia in 1954. Drawing lies at the heart of his artistic research and is the language through which he explores the human figure, memory and the inner dimension. His work combines the rigour of the Renaissance tradition with visionary and symbolic suggestions, enriched by his encounter with Eastern culture.
Description
In Disegno, Galliani creates a composition divided into two complementary spaces. On one side, a female face with closed eyes slowly emerges from the dark surface, defined by delicate transitions between light and shadow; on the other, small points of light evoke a constellation, opening onto an undefined, almost cosmic space. The precision of the line and the softness of the sfumato transform the figure into an apparition, suspended between presence and dissolution.
Conclusion
Disegno brings together some of the most distinctive elements of Omar Galliani’s artistic language: the central role of drawing, the female figure, the depth of shadow and an intimate, visionary dimension. The dialogue between the face and the constellation leads the gaze beyond representation, towards a silent space where reality and imagination seem to meet.
