"Flight Attempt" di Simone Benedetto – Un’opera che esplora il desiderio di trasformazione e libertà attraverso la figura di un fanciullo sospeso tra fragilità umana e istinto animale. In mostra presso la Galleria PUNTO SULL’ARTE nell’ambito della collettiva WILD SOULS

Flight attempt by Simone Benedetto

With Flight Attempt, Simone Benedetto continues his exploration of the child figure as an image of transformation and tension toward a new dimension of being. The sculpture portrays a young body suspended in a gesture that suggests an attempt to fly: the wings emerge as symbols of desire, instinct, and the urge to overcome one’s limits.

The artist: Simone Benedetto

Simone Benedetto was born in Turin in 1985 and graduated with honors in Sculpture and Plastic Arts from the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti. His research focuses on the figure of the child as a symbolic device of psychological transformation. The child is never represented as a fixed identity, but as an evolving organism, suspended between human and animal states. Through extremely precise modelling, the artist gives visible form to the inner process of change that accompanies growth. Each work becomes a hybrid sculptural image in which animal elements emerge from the child’s body itself. He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and lives and works in Turin.

Description of  “Flight attempt”

In Flight Attempt, the child figure appears captured in a moment of transition and tension. The wings opening from the body do not represent a completed flight, but rather the desire to rise and transform. The artwork suggests a fragile and intense metamorphosis in which the boundary between the human body and the animal dimension dissolves into a suspended and poetic gesture.

Conclusion

Within WILD SOULS, Flight Attempt contributes to the dialogue on transformation and the primal relationship between human beings and nature. The sculpture expresses the desire to overcome one’s limits through a form suspended between vulnerability, instinct, and freedom. The artwork is on view at the Galleria PUNTO SULL’ARTE until June 13.
