NY by Jean-Marc Amigues
With NY, Jean-Marc Amigues continues his painterly exploration of the relationship between reality and abstract dissolution. The artwork transforms the urban landscape into a suspended and rarefied vision, where light, blurring, and chromatic layers alter the perception of space and image.
The artist: Jean-Marc Amigues
Jean-Marc Amigues was born in Toulouse in 1965. From an early age he cultivated a passion for drawing and painting alongside his medical studies and specialization in rheumatology, a profession he still practices today. His artistic research develops around the desire to transform real images into compositions suspended between figuration and abstraction. Through glazes, blurring, and dissolving effects, his works move beyond simple realism toward an emotional and contemplative dimension. He has exhibited in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs. He lives and works in Toulouse, France.
Description of “NY”
In NY, the metropolitan landscape emerges through a texture of diffused light and blurred contours. Buildings seem to dissolve into atmospheric luminosity, while chromatic veils transform the city into a presence suspended between memory and perception. Amigues’ painting creates an unstable and contemplative image in which reality and abstraction coexist within the same visual space.
Conclusion
With NY, Jean-Marc Amigues invites the viewer to observe the city beyond its physical dimension, transforming it into an emotional and perceptual space. The artwork offers a poetic vision of the urban environment, suspended between presence, dissolution, and imagination. The artwork is on view at PUNTO SULL’ARTE.
