Pierantonio Tanzola: betweem thought, image and interdisciplinary research

His research combines philosophical thought, architectural vision, and visual experimentation, placing content at the center of the creative process.
The art of Pierantonio Tanzola
With a solid background in philosophy and architecture, Tanzola began his artistic journey at a young age, cultivating an independent and multidisciplinary approach. His work draws inspiration from Byzantine painting and the perspectival rigor of Paolo Uccello, while also being deeply influenced by literature and auteur cinema.
Filmmakers such as Rossellini, De Sica, Giacomelli, and Pasolini have played a crucial role in shaping his artistic vision, reinforcing his understanding of art as a tool for ethical and intellectual inquiry. For Tanzola, each work originates from an intense and patient process of intellectual reflection, in which form is always subordinate to thought.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with important literary magazines such as Panta (Bompiani) and Nuovi Argomenti (Mondadori), confirming his commitment to contemporary cultural dialogue.
In 2009, he was featured in the exhibition “Ergo” at Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin; in the same year, the Vittoriale degli Italiani commissioned his docu-film “Sebastiano”, and he participated in the 54th Venice Biennale, in the Italy Pavilion – Veneto Region, marking a significant milestone in his artistic path.
In 2020, he exhibited in “DACCAPO”, curated by Giordano Bruno Guerri at the Vittoriale degli Italiani, further consolidating his presence within the contemporary art scene. His works have been presented in prestigious galleries both in Italy and abroad.
