MARICA FASOLI

Bussolengo, 1977

The first impression raised by her works, characterized by a spasmodic attention for details, recalls hyperrealism, if not even trompe-l'oeil. However, at a closer look, the artist chooses a different path. She doesn't want to accurately reproduce reality, but rather represent its "revised" version. Her images are filled with a light which seems to come from their inside, carrying a playful and contagious joy, conveyed by a sugary and polished palette.

Born in 1977 in Bussolengo (Verona). She graduated as an Art Teacher, she post graduated in Conservation and Maintenance of wooden and canvas artfacts at the Istituti Santa Paola in Mantova. and then she mastered in Artistic Anatomy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona. After the degree, her main activity entailed in prestigious restoration works (among which paintings by Tiziano, Jacopo Bassano and Cignaroli). Since 2002 she gradually abandoned restoration, focusing upon painting. She has obtained rewards at various competitions and held exhibitions at galleries, expositions, museums and foundations.
