Rooster soul by Simone Benedetto
With Rooster Soul, Simone Benedetto continues his exploration of the child figure as a symbol of transformation and connection with the instinctive dimension. The sculpture portrays a young body suspended in an open and essential gesture, from which the presence of the rooster emerges as a manifestation of inner energy, awakening, and metamorphosis.
The artist: Simone Benedetto
Simone Benedetto was born in Turin in 1985 and graduated with honors in Sculpture and Plastic Arts from the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti. His research focuses on the figure of the child as a symbolic device of psychological transformation. The child is never represented as a fixed identity, but as an evolving organism, suspended between human and animal states. Through extremely precise modelling, the artist gives visible form to the inner process of change that accompanies growth. Each work becomes a hybrid sculptural image in which animal elements emerge from the child’s body itself. He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and lives and works in Turin.
Description of “Feel deer”
In Rooster Soul, the child figure appears crossed by a silent yet vital tension. The rooster emerging from the child’s head is not a decorative element, but a symbolic presence connected to instinct, identity, and transformation. The posture of the body and the openness of the arms suggest a fragile balance between vulnerability and inner strength.
Conclusion
Within WILD SOULS, Rooster Soul contributes to the dialogue on the primal relationship between human beings and nature. The sculpture expresses an inner metamorphosis in which human and animal coexist within the same evolving identity. The artwork is on view at the Galleria PUNTO SULL’ARTE until June 13.
