Gianluca Corona

Milan (IT), 1969

The artistic research of Gianluca Corona, a representative of Italian figurative art, is based on a reinterpretation of the genres of still life and portraiture, typical of the great Masters of the 14th and 17th centuries, through a monumental and sensual representation of forms. His work, which utilizes traditional techniques and materials, demonstrates how the classical genres of art history remain highly relevant today.

In 1991, he graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, and a few years later, from 1994 to 1996, he regularly attended the studio of Mario Donizzetti in Bergamo. Throughout his career, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy, the United States, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, England, and France. His extraordinary paintings have been featured in renowned art fairs in Italy and Europe, and his masterpieces are part of important public and private collections. The work "Francesco" was acquired by "The MEAM Hall," the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. Many of his works have been published as covers for a series of classical music CDs by the Concerto-Musicimedia collection, a musical compilation later released worldwide. In 2019, his great talent earned him the purchase award from the prestigious The Bank collection during his participation in the GrandArt fair. Among the critics who have written about his work are: Alberto Agazzani, Franco Basile, Graziano Campanini, Valdek Cwalinski, Carlo Franza, Gilberto Grilli, Gianfranco Lelj, Mario Maccarini, Pietro C. Marani, Alessandro Riva, and Maurizio Sciaccaluga. He lives and works in Milan.
