Gianluca Corona

Milan, 1969

Gianluca Corona is a Priest of picture. Under a smooth light, framed from a frontal angle, the objects and the fruit seem to be aligned as if they were in a parade, following an ideal horizontal line in a sort of hesitant homage to Morandi, or isolated, frontal, within square compositions, iconic and proud. From the translucent skin of the plums to the rough surface of the lemons, up to the modestly closed leaves of the salad, each fruit, each vegetable, seems to hold a vibration, a trembling.

Gianluca Corona born in Milan in 1969. He graduates at the Academy of Brera in Milan and he trains as an apprentice in the studio of M. Donizetti in Bergamo. He then starts his professional career, establishing himself on the artistic scene as a leading figure of the young Italian representational art movement. His work offers a contemporary rereading of the still life and portrait genres, inspired by the great past masters. Special attention is devoted to using traditional materials and techniques. He has held several solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His works are present in public and private collections. He lives and works in Milan.
